I'm very excited to announce our first ever Friends + Family Fall Mini Sessions (with special friends + family rates offered only for Sunnyside Garden + Nashville Families). I have been getting so many requests from other Moms and their friends so wanted to offer this special pricing to make it affordable for all my people and their loved ones :)

MINI SESSIONS
Mini sessions are great for busy families who don't have time for a full session and just want a handful of great shots of their family together and some sweet photos of the kids. These are done at one location during an alotted timeframe to accomodate several families in one go. Don't worry, your session will be private (by appointment), but when your time is up we will be moving onto the next appointment.
You'll get: 20+ frame-worthy edited hi-res photos via download + a pretty online gallery

AT HOME FAMILY SESSIONS
A full family session is great for families who want photos in the privacy of their own home or at a specific location of their choice (or both)! This session has a more personal touch and will incorporate your style + aesthetic of your home and meaningful locations that you may want to serve as the backdrop. I always think of it as a time capsule of memories to look back on "where my kids grew up" or "where we lived when..". We often recommend starting in your home and then will still have time to pop outside for a stroll and shots in the park or another favorite location. We will have more time to focus on more creative shots and capturing the kids in their element.
Timing: We recommend mornings for families with younger kids as they will be less cranky ;)
But 'Golden Hour' (about an hour before sunset) is ideal lighting-wise and suited for kids that are still happy at the end of the day.
You'll get: 75-100+ edited hi-res photos that document the entire shoot via download + an online gallery

FAMILY SESSION TIPS
Outside of Mini Sessions, we typically like to come to your home to begin photographs for family shoots! It gives us such an intimate
glimpse into your lives and your vibe as a family and we want to photograph that. We want to capture your kids as they play in their natural environment, as opposed to an impersonal, sterile studio. Everyone has fond memories of the place where they built their family, so why not document that? And afterwards we can head out in the neighborhood for some outdoor street or park photos.
We prefer letting your kids play rather asking them to pose for every photo, so we ask parents to not worry too much about what their kids are doing and let the photographer take the lead. Of course we will get a couple of family pictures with everyone looking at the camera and smiling, but we love the shots of everyone just having fun and being in the moment! Please keep the bribes to a minimum and try to refrain from jumping in or scolding your children if they aren't looking at the camera. We find the best results happens when parents aren't being too forceful.
In preparation for the shoot: We ask that you try to tidy up your home a bit prior to the shoot, or at least a few spaces like the living room or kids room and also areas around the windows. We love natural light! Of course we can also re-arrange as needed upon arrival as well.
What to wear: You can dress up or dress down, just make sure you're comfortable and that you're not clashing with one another. Above all this if YOUR shoot, so choose something that fits your style. If you're unsure, simple is usually best! Nothing is off limits although bright white can look blown out in the harsh sunlight.
How We Work
Style: Our style is definitely more "lifestyle" meaning capturing you and your family in your own environment... giving direction to evoke more natural poses, without trying anything too staged or forced. We love to use window-light (natural light is always the most flattering) and nice, clean open spaces in your apartment. One reason we like shooting in your home is to incorporate your style and vibe into the shoot so it is unique to you ;) If you're looking for a studio type shoot with artificial lighting, you may want to search for a studio photographer.
Retouching: Since our style is very natural, we don't do a lot of retouching. We can take out blemishes and retouch small things out of your photos, but this is considered 'beauty retouching' and is an additional fee.
